2016 Tacoma manual transmission gets stuck in gear

    I got the parts to do it myself - it's not a difficult job. The pin is $13.75; the plug is $5.00. The only thing that stopped me from doing is the warranty: the truck came with a 7 year/100,000 miles power train warranty (as a certified pre-owned vehicle). In case something else goes bad with the transmission, I don't want to hear the Stealership telling me the warranty is void because this repair wasn't done by "Their Excellency".

    Meantime, I learned another useful thing: you don't need to go to a stealership (I like the nickname!) for the repair - Toyota honors the work performed by an ASE-certified mechanic. Still, I want THEM, the Stealership, to do the job. It's a matter of principle.
