My truck was in for inspection a few weeks ago, and I mentioned to the owner of the shop that my truck makes a pretty loud bang or clunk in the front end when the weight of the truck is shifting. Not 100% consistently, but if i'm going from drive to reverse, turning the steering wheel which is shifting the weight from one side to the other, occasionally over a bump, but I've mainly noticed it when the weight of the truck is moving around. The only thing he saw was that my upper ball joints were shot. So I replaced those this weekend, and the sound still exists just the same as before I did the replacement. He said he didn't see anything wrong suspension wise and nothing stuck out to him steering wise as needing attention. What else could I be checking? The steering intermediate shaft is original to the truck (150K miles), I'm sure that it needs replaced, but is it possible that could be making all the racket? I feel like it could be steering related, but I'm grasping for ideas here.
