I need to replace the rack and pinion on my 98 Toyota Tacoma RS5 2.4L manual transmission this weekend. Does anyone know if I need to recalibrate the power steering pump after I replace the rack and pinion? Thank you for your help.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Changing the fluid would be a good idea. Calibrate the pump is it giving you problems??

    Otherwise nothing needs done.

Making sure everything is marked and your steering wheel is centered before removing the rack.

Bleed the system, yes. Calibrate pump? Que?

I've replaced an '02 rack twice, just r&r and bleed. And don't buy Cardone. Ever.

Crap I was about to pull the trigger on a cardone rack from rockauto. Did you have a bad experience?

Yeah, they're junk. Leaking badly in less than a year.

O'Reilly warrantied the part but it's a PITA to r&r repeatedly.

Finding good remans is a challenge, lots of threads here on TW
