    Hello TW,

As I continue to look for possible replacements for my current kit, I keep finding options that seem very attractive. I was curious if anybody could provide some input of a few options that I've been looking at.

    Icon Stage 6
    Icon Stage 8
    OME BP-51

I've heard great things about both of these kits, as well as a few cons for each. I've heard that both the Icons and BP-51's have a potential to leak and customer service isn't the greatest for Icon, however I would be purchasing either of these kits through Toytec which is thankfully a local shop for me, so if anything were to happen they would be able to take care of it.

    Thanks

I was actually thinking about going with my dad to that this Friday, I wanted to check out some other builds. Looks like it’ll be a good time

I’ve been looking at their 2.5 Boss with RRs, I’m couldn’t find too many reviews for them on Tacomas.
I just wish that they were adjustable like some other brands

True, I was hoping that $4.3k for an icon or OME setup would be enough coin for a good setup. How do you like your 8112's?

If you live close to Denver the fact that you can walk into Toytec if you ever have an issue should be part of the equation.

Their customer service was been beyond exceptional the couple of times I had small issues.

Look at the rebuild schedule on all of them before buying. That’s why I went Ironman. I have 20k on my lift and the shocks still ride like they are new. A lot of people can’t say the same about Icon.

The 81120/8100 are absolutely amazing in every way. Took a while for my order to come in and had to schedule my alignment a few days before installation so I wasn’t down too long.

8112s are like 8 months out so that might factor in. ;)

King and Fox 2.5 RRs are relatively obtainable (3-5 week leads?) and would be my pick. I don't think it makes sense to pay as much for an Icon stage 8 kit as you would a Fox or King kit, persnoally.

You didn’t mention them but I have the Ironman Foam cell pros on mine and really like them. Though they are pricy now but it’s a full kit.
I’d recommend reaching out to @AccuTune Offroad tell them your needs and they’ll set you up plus offer a valve to make sure it’s right.
    Good luck!

True, Poly performance has a fox PES kit for 4.3k which has catching my eye. My only reservation is that they’re based out of California so I’d need to find somebody in Denver how could install and service in the future.
A shop nearby here has the 8112’s in stock but for just the shocks it’s over $4k, with leafs, UCA’s and install I’ll be over way budget.

I’ve been looking at a few Aussie brands, OME, Dobinsons and Ironmans but there are so many choices. Icons have seemed to be getting mixed reviews lately, some people either love them or hate them.

Haven’t been on the forum long if you heard great things about Icon. Easily one of the worst suspension companies on the market and grossly overpriced.

For 4.3k you can get a MUCH better suspension for ADS, Fox or King

Real life story, Fox Shocks were purchased for Accutune Offroad with their tuning. Shocks leaked within 300 miles and they denied warranty because the truck was taken down a dirt road. Fox denied warranty because Accutune opened them up and tuned them. Shocks were taken to a local shock rebuilder who found that Accutune knicked a seal on the rebuild.

Don't go OME. Dobinsons and Ironman both have good reviews. I have good experience with both of them. If going Dobinsons, get SPC UCA's. Ironman's UCA's are okay but I still think SPC may be better because they can be adjusted and it is easier to change ball joints on them.

I’ve exchanged some PMs with them and I’m definitely considering going with them, I’m still putting some money aside to get this done so I’ll see what I could get through them when I’ve got my final budget.

They seem like a great option for sure.

I’ve been reading as much as I can about them and I’ve been seeing all negatives as of late. The happy customers were on threads back from 2018, and it seems that Icons QC has fallen off since. I guess money a high price tag doesn’t polish the turd.
