    Like, so many.
I’m not, but I think it’s cool when I see a badge. The cynical side of me does wonder how many actually get out there.

Is this kind of like the Boy Scouts, but on wheels?

Something like that. Depends on how you treat it. If you treat it like a little club where you get to buy your way in, then that’s what it is. But if you treat it the way it’s intended and partake in a community of people who are truly trying to explore the world by vehicle and have classes, trainings, group events and so on and it’s a very valuable resource and opens up a lot of possibilities. :mudding:

OB member since 2016 here. In Florida my prerunner got the job done, but Michigan and the northern Appalachians required 4x4 to really get anywhere worth going.

OB can be a great community with a wealth of info, but like most social groups, you get what you put into it and there are plenty of "members" that detract from the overall mission. I find the rally point events tool to be very valuable, especially if you don't mind putting yourself out there a little bit and taking the lead on event planning, even if it's just a meet up/rigs & coffee kind of thing.

Yeah. Broverlanders and Instagram dorks ruined the idea right as the pandemic set in, but hopefully that blows over and some other thing catches their attention sooner than later so it can go back to belonging to those that really embrace and respect it. It's really just a hobby of vehicle based exploring, trying to define it narrowly and specifically is just as dumb as the posers doing it for "likes"

What’s funny is all the shit talking in that thread about all the money and crap into rigs it’s no different than the what have you done to your truck threads here so much useless money on gadgets and what not. I just appreciate the people even know there is few in that community that truly do want to explore and travel. But either way we all get to have our interests and dislikes..

I had a badge on my 4runner but haven't ordered a new one (member 292), haven't been on the site in awhile.
