Hello all, I just picked up this clean 02 and thought I’d share. Only thing done to it from the previous owner was the topper, a viper security system and a Bluetooth touchscreen double din head unit. 130k miles.

My goal is to have a clean, nice looking rig with a plush ride and decent off-road capacity. Obviously not gonna hack this one apart and crawl it but I would like to be able to tackle some fun trails.

    Future plans are;

    -lift kit (SUGGESTIONS?)
    -decent wheels/tires (31-33”?) (SUGGESTIONS?)
-paint the fender flares, door handles, tailgate handle, possibly the grill surround
-tinted topper @ 5% and whatever is legal for the cab and a 5% windshield banner
    - get creative with de-badging and new badges
-upgraded headlights and LED bulbs throughout
    -remove the bug deflector
    -bench seat cover (SUGGESTIONS?)
    -weather tech mats
    -spray in bed liner
-LED cargo lights in the topper
    -hood strut kit
    -cold air intake (SUGGESTIONS?)
    -possibly an exhaust (SUGGESTIONS?)
    -front winch and bumper (SUGGESTIONS?)
    -lockers eventually
    -??????????

I am completely open to suggestions and would love input.

    Thanks
    Jesse

Thanks man! I fell for it lol. It was time to send my 2000 GMC RCSB step side with a 6.5” BDS lift and 35’s on 20’s with 140k off for a restoration, so this will become my daily.

Great looking truck, will definitely be a lot of fun for ya! I'm not much of an expert but I can share my experience.
    - Tires I would recommend Nitto Ridge Grapplers or Trail Grapplers. Different uses - Ridge Grappler is a more aggressive all-terrain/hybrid terrain; Trail Grapp is a mud tire. Both have great off-road and on-road characteristics.
    - Cold air intake you're best off staying with the stock intake as they're the most efficient design for pulling in cold air (rather than hot engine bay air).

If you don’t mind me asking how much did you get that good looking taco for? Todays market must have been a lot for such a desirable truck with low miles!

Lol yeah it’s a goofy market for sure! I paid 14 it was a consignment deal, and they were asking just shy of 18. It was an older lady who bought it new and when she passed, her family consigned it. I know book ($10-12k) is no where near what I paid but I made peace with it because of reliability and condition. I know these have a cult following which doesn’t help when buying.

All great info, thank you. I would’ve never guessed the factory air box was a great option and I’ll definitely consider the tires when I get a lift and new wheels. I have no idea what color/style wheels I want either ‍♂️
