Anyone w/ Aftermarket wheels on 2022 Models?

Seeking help from anyone with a 2022 tacoma that has had aftermarket wheels with aftermarket TPMS installed at a shop that was NOT a Toyota dealership…

Did you run into any issues with aftermarket TPMS in the new wheels and the sensors being programmed to the truck?

I’ve heard that 2021/2022/newer models don’t allow any non-Toyota shops to connect to the trucks computer system… is that accurate?

 

Not true, I did it to a 2022 SR and a 2022 TRD Off-Road.

I swapped wheels with aftermarket TPMS sensors (315Mhz if I remember correctly, that's all it matters)
I used Autel TPMS reset tool, scanned each sensor, plugged into the trucks OBD2 port, re-wrote the new sensor IDs to the ECU successfully. TPMS display pressure just fine on SR (via the Toyota app) and TRD Off-Road (on the gauge)

 

I had discount tire use the factory 2022 TPMS sensors from my TRD OR wheels swapped to my new wheels. Zero issues.
