Damn, I used to have one of those for my 97' Honda Accord. Saved my ass a few times.

Never needed a spare key. After being spoiled by years of having cars that I couldn’t lock myself out of I always make sure I have the key in my hand before I close the door.

What really sucks......is none of the keys are ferric, that is wont stick direct to magnet.
Overwise I could stick a key anywhere with just a neo magnet......securely.....

I'd rather just keep a spare in my wallet. Less hassle. No worry of it falling or attracting unwanted attention.

I have a magnetic key holder in the rear bumper. Have had it there 3 years and it has never budged. Well except the times I've locked the keys in the car and had to use it of course.

I found a spare from the PO zip tied to the inside of the front bumper. I have 4 spares now. None will be on hand when I eventually lock myself out. My F150 has the keypad locks on the doors. I locked myself out about 3 times before I decided to memorize the code. I'm a bona fide nincompoop.

I got a hide-a-key magnetic box pretty much the first day I got my truck, the spare key has lived there for 2 years now with no sign of budging, except when I used the key. Only issues have been opening that damn box, super tight fit. I like the zip tie to frame method, but I keep my knife on my keychain which doesn't help if I've locked my keychain in the truck.

I wish I had one of those flat plastic keys for my Gen 1. I still have the one for my old XJ Cherokee -- it was a neat program the California AAA offered back then.

The key in my truck is a red herring, the Haltech requires a button push combo to turn fuel and spark on.

One of the guys I scuba dive with bought a lock box with that looks like a lock. Locks it to the hook in the bed and locks the key in the box.

The magnets on Hide-A-Key boxes are very powerful. I made the mistake of wedging it up against the dead end of a hidden part of the U-shaped frame rail in such a way it was impossible to remove with my fingers. Took me 10 minutes and a screwdriver to finally get it free. Glad I tested its removal after sticking it there.
