Warning message and Maint Message

Are these 2 items related ?...
Technically coming due for the 10k oil change ( yea I changed it at 5k that's another story )...

2021... everything has been great so far - just saw this today on start-up.
No buzzer sound just the image.

 

Yes they are. I get the triangle and message every single time a scheduled maintenance is due.

 

Yes. Changr the oil and filter. Hold the odometer button in, foot off break, press start twice, dont let go of odometer button until it flashes 00000 at you.

 

The triangle is just telling you to check the messages and yours just happens to be about upcoming maintenance.

 

Could recall that orange led happening in my truck when i first drove it home from the dealer. Turned out to be a dirty access door switch. Sprayed it with some deoxit electrical cleaner, hasn't come back.

 

you can actually program in your head unit when you swapped tires, did certain types of maintenance like oil changes etc as well. You mechanic might be doing that to set reminders.

 

Go to the SETTINGS icon on the center multi information display. Scroll down to Maintenance and reset.

 

Usually goes off in 5k mile increments… but I believe you can change the settings, as stated above.

 

Its the service light, it comes on every 5k miles. You can reset it in the gauge cluster settings menu.

OK so maintenance item needed - actually made a note to get the oil changed etc this week.
I did it at 5k and will do it now at 10k at an independent shop nearby that specializes in Toyota.
Not gonna let a dealer do minor stuff like this that can turn into major problems -
I'd do it myself but I'm a bit long in the tooth to get up under any car these days.

Its normal.. It will pop up within 500 miles before your due.. maintenance

 

Note that you have to do this will Trip A is shown. So, that needs to be up before you do the Two Press dance.

Since the ODO shows after shutdown and when we open the door, Trip A is my default anyway.
