Sounds more like it. I paid a few grand more than that but I got a cat guard, window tint, trail rails, ball mount, tailgate lock, mud guards, clear tape on certain areas, cargo bed light, and some other things. I find these to be fairly useful adds. But I’d have hopped on that $53K for sure.

If people would stop giving the greedy dealers their money, the prices would come down.

Well, you won’t see me paying 10’s of thousands over msrp for any vehicle.

Still too much. I had a lime one offered at MSRP but it’s 36 days out and that color is…

Well, not in my market area. Otherwise, I would have paid MSRP. And I like that color.

What a joke. For $50k there are way better trucks out there. For $60k it wouldn’t even be a passing thought as I scrolled ads while sitting on the shitter.

Nope, may have even owned more Tacomas over my time than you and what I own now doesn't matter. Every full size 1/2 ton is available for under $50k as a well equipped 4x4. Some 3/4 ton are even cheaper than the Pro if you order from the right dealerships - for instance I could get a Power Wagon for less than a Pro.

The Pro is only a good deal for those who are willing to pay a big markup for a one year exclusive color and some suspension that's a bit better than the Offroads.

You’re right. What you and I own doesn’t matter. And if a PRO is what I want, need for my specific purposes, and can afford, that’s all that really matters.

Agreed. If you have the money then spend it on what makes you happy.

Here is my story with Pro’s. Have owned a few. My local dealer I have bought numerous vehicles from them and recently my 22 Camry. For being a repeat customer they won’t give me a Pro at msrp. I deal with the same salesman and they know someone will come in and pay over msrp. There asking 4000 over. I won’t do it. I have never paid over. My 21 LunaRock tundra Pro paid msrp from a dealer a little bit further. And spoke with them and being a repeat customer they will get me a Tacoma Pro at msrp. I have been tossing it around but everytime I look at my Tundra Pro especially the color I don’t want to sell it. I thought about getting the same color in sport or off road and have the mods done what I want. I’m no rush to do this. I don’t drive it much and has 7000 miles on it.

Are you just shopping the Houston area or are you looking all across the state?

I found someone who will sell me a PRO with $0 mark up near austin but it’s just taking a very long time. On their waiting list for months but they get very few. I want a truck now to use at my rural property. Been renting trucks on turo and just done with that. I’ll use the austin dealer for the next pro, establish a relationship, and do it properly the next time around. I may even trade it for the 4th Gen at this other place if it ends up being a cool truck.

Cool. I was just looking across the US inventory and it seems we are in the lull between the 2022 and 2023 model years.

It’ll be interesting to see if you actually get Lime.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I’m getting the lime in two weeks, but begrudgingly paying a mark up for it because I just can’t wait for the $0 mark up dealer to get me a PRO. Just takes too long. I’ll use them the next time around. I did the math on the cost of me renting, the cost of keeping up my 13 year old Mercedes, and buying the truck now with the mark up just makes sense despite how painful it is to do. Plus, I just want it, hunting season is coming, and I’m willing to pay for time.
