Talk about a boutique product. Your into the kind of money there that could buy you a really unique numbered edition InWin case.

Well, after waiting about as long as I uncomfortably can for prices of things to settle, and taking some time to research a little bit before overwhelming myself with all kinds of pc jargon, I think I'm about ready to start my very first build :typing: While I'm at it, does anyone have a recommendation for a chair, $250 or less? I'm partial to the bucket seat designs and know that they suck ergonomically.. but, always loved racing seats, and I never minded the stiffness when I had Corbeau racing buckets in a previous car with 4 point harnesses.

Look at the chair in the bar below. I bought that a few months ago and love it. Gabrylly Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair.
Get the aftermarket wheels for it as well. They're rollerblade wheels and make all the difference.

Hey... I just realized that I have that chair!! Minus the tilt up arms (no biggy)..

Very comfortable chair - and I love the breathable mesh!!

Wish mine didn't have the tilt up arms, my wife does that every god damn time she sits in it. Drives me nuts.

I chalk it up into the don't pick that battle category, like the toilet seat.

Well, I never thought I'd buy another laptop but I just put a deposit down for the September batch diy kit from Framework.

I love that framework is true to its promises, at least so far. Awesome to see a company step up and embrace right to repair. Unlike apple/samsung/john deere/every other company out there. I hope they become a major contender in the market, and can influence other manufacturers to follow their example.

Everything except RAM seems to be on schedule to be in by Thursday. RAM is estimated to be in Monday :( I'm super eager to get this thing built!

I read somewhere NVidia is trying to push out all the old stock at the top dollar prices before dropping the new series. And here I was hoping to finally upgrade from my Zotac 1060 AMP without shelling out big money. :bananadead:

I also heard this a crap ton in my last month of research. And given the prices of GPU's, I settled on a 6700XT, seeming like the best bang for buck (for my uses).

I'd just like to have my shit on ultra without any frame drops.
I also feel like some games run like dogshit on my CPU. 7 Days to Die stutters during world save and half the time it maxes out my CPU. I have a i7-9700k. My socket will only allow up to the 9900k so If I want a real upgrade I might as get a new mobo too.... But the newer chips aren't even that much of an upgrade from what I can tell. Best I can do is get a few more cores/threads if I spend a bunch. May be time to jump off the intel ship, but I know next to nothing on the AMD side.

How right you were! I started researching into PC building back in January, and waited/researched up until now in August. Prices of my first attempts at builds on pcpartpicker were literally double-triple what I originally had expected to spend. I'll be happy to report back over the weekend or Monday on how my build goes!

I'm not really a great resource for AMD either, especially considering this is my first build. I settled on intel fairly early on, so I never put in much thought to going AMD route. I'm happy with my 12th gen i5 choice; I think it'll be plenty sufficient for me to achieve 1440p decently with the 6700xt.

I guess as if we didn't already know, it seems pretty unlikely that Nvidia prices will drop any with the new series, or even be close to the same. Their business model seems to be that GPU prices should equal modern game console prices, and I just saw where PS5's are going up everywhere outside of the US. I assume its fine balance, but interesting read at least:
    https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-believes-graphics-card-should-be-price-of-console/
