3rd gen JBL speakers and sub upgrade worth it?

    It's kind of unclear if it's worth upgrading the JBL speakers or not unless you go all out with swapping the amp as well. I don't really want to touch the head unit nor upgrading the amp.

    Anyone updated just speakers/sub with jbl and pretty happy that they did? Good improvement?
    I will also do sounds deadening to each door if I"ll start replacing the speakers.

    Fronts: JBL GX963
    Back: JBL GX628
    Tweeters: JBL GX302
    Sub: Rockford Fosgate P3SD2

    Please share your experience upgrading just the speakers and the sub on jbl system!

    Keep your replacement speakers close to 2ohm rather than 4ohm. Otherwise, it’ll be a downgrade in volume output. JBL stuff seems to be the go-to when guys are messing with the stock JBL gear.

    Yes! I think those speakers are at 2.3ohm and tweeters are 3.0
