As best I can tell, the dealer sold me a filter for a 2.7 Tacoma and I have it installed on my 4.0 Tacoma. Is this a problem I need to fix? See the filter is about .5" shorter so not a huge size difference, but still unhappy about getting the wrong part.

Sold me a YZZD1 and I believe my truck is supposed to have a YZZD3.

    2014 Tacoma with a 4.0 v6 and 92k miles and synthetic blend.

As long as the threads and gasket match between the two part numbers, it should literally make no difference to anything except filtration capacity of the filter. You should be fine. If you normally do a 5k mile oil change, change it at 4.5k miles instead if you're that worried about it... Personally, I'd just run it for normal interval anyway.

    The D1 is shorter.
    The D3 is longer.

    I wouldn’t worry about it.
About the only thing that can happen is you’ll be over filled just slightly on oil if you pour in the recommended amount. I never go by the book, I go by dipstick.

    I have a D3 on my 2.7L. You're good to go. :)
