Nice. Don't get that with big manufacturers.
I had to default back to ordering a Front Runner rack for the incoming Subaru but always like going indie when possible. Gamiviti is a great example.

    Really?

Going from 31's to 33's (E load) still kept me at 18mpg with camping gear (and a 2" lift). That's what I netted going to and from Moab (17hrs each way) and there were a lot of hills to climb. Not to mention following @eon_blue speed racer ass well above the speed limit -

    20201118_111209.jpg

Soon as I added a mid-length Sherpa aluminum roof rack, I would struggle to get 15mpg it seemed like even with an empty vehicle and no spare -

    20210212_125428.jpg

I'm guessing you'll hit 12-13mpg; should do multiple gas run and fill-ups now and compare with a roof rack once you get it.

I won't put a roof rack on my Land Cruiser, hell no.

Yep. I think the rack will be shipped in a couple of weeks. One thing that I think helps keep mileage around the factory high estimate of 16 is the wheel and tires (285/75R16) weigh 62.5 lbs where the original stocks were 62. It may help.

I think no rack is the call unless you really need it and it makes life easier (like for surfboards and a cargo box) or if its not your daily. I'm not a RTT guy, not sure if you are, but I don't think the tradeoff is worth lugging that weight up top either. Especially on a Cruiser.

Plus that would only really pertain to babies. No judgment on anyone still breastfeeding a toddler but...it's also kinda weird

I guess that is judgmental, still weird

They do, I really like them.

Material costs has forced them to raise their prices unfortunately; that rack is now almost $300 more.

    Yep!

Not into RTT's either; I just use the big trunk space for all the things.

For our DV trip, we should really make it a thing to find the most ghetto gas station again.

Make it a tradition or something

There is a cutoff where its okay to be judgmental in these matters.
