    Hi Guys.....

Does the 3rd gen tacoma come standard with a trans cooler or oil cooler? I believe I recall reading something about a oil cooler, but could find nothing regarding the transmission having a cooler.

My 22 has is a 3.5 SR 4WD that came equipped with a tow hitch and trailer electrical hookups, but I don't believe the vehicle's dealer window sticker said anything explicit about it having a towing package...

there is no tow package on later models (2019 and on i think) All the features that come with the tow package are just standard after that, so you should have the coolers.

Mid-2020 production year Toyota eliminated the aux trans cooler. Ask me how I know.

Here's what you need to do the job:

    This may not be current
I think like someone else said 2020 mid year they stopped . Very easy to see open the hood amps look in front of the radiator . It looks like a little radiator with a line in and a line out . I Have a 2019 and at that time it was included

If your truck is the '22 in your profile, please ask salesman to locate coolers so you can photo and post photos.

You may be able to have a grand time harassing him about misleading literature.

They always do crap like that. Especially since they think people don’t know stuff about cars. To most they are probably right for the most part . But usually people that buy trucks like ours are a little more enthusiastic about things like this and you catch the salesman off guard.

Haha, well this is good to know. I just assumed it included the coolers. I’ll have to look and see if I see them on the truck.

Open the hood and look at the driver's side of the radiator. If you don't see this you don't have one

I remember bringing my last Tacoma into the dealer for service ;and the service guy came out to show me my diff fluid on a piece of card board and told me I should change it because it was filthy . I looked at him and said that’s not my diff fluid ? He got like a scared look in his face because I told him I just had changed the fluid on everything a week earlier . Tranny ( manual ) front diff , rear diff and transfer. At that point he didn’t know what to say to me. I should have been a dick and told his boss but I never said anything to anybody. I just never went to that dealership again . The moral to that story is they are all shady scammers.

The sheet I posted had my VIN on it, doesn’t that not mean anything? Lol, may not these days.

Here’s a pic of my coolers. The black one towards the bottom does appear to be going towards the trans area. Could be wrong and didn’t trace it all the way down. May do it later to be sure though. A0E02308-B19D-4751-9978-14C4C4AC0B49.jpg5D76B4B3-403F-42C9-A571-FAC413AEB8E0.jpg

Otherwise I do not have the nice looking one on my drivers side so appears I don’t have a trans cooler then. Is the black one for the power steering maybe?

If your vin is on that sheet maybe it is part of the package verify for sure. I’m making the salesman look bad and maybe he is not

Great info. I was wondering if maybe they did something along those lines to allow the claim even though it may not be an external cooler.

Always enjoy learning from the forums!

They actually do still have a cooler, but it is a fluid heat exchanger, like the engine oil cooler. It is were the transmission thermostat mounts looks like this.
