I brought my truck into the shop to get the front and rear suspension replaced, everything's been good for about a week but now there's some squeaking going on. I've pinned one of the squeaks down to the front bracket of one of the leafs. It looks like the leaf is rubbing the bracket. I assume there's supposed to be a spacer, or the bushing is supposed to separate the two. Can anyone tell me if this is just installed wrong? Hopefully the pics tell the full story.

I just went with what the shop suggested was closest to OEM, I was really happy with the stock ones.

You need to retorque your ubolts so have the shop check the squeak when you bring it back to have the ubolts retorqued.

Thanks, I didn't realize that they needed retorquing, good to know. I'll take it down to see. I've been watching youtube videos, and it seems that they all have this bushing clearly visible, is it possible that mine just isn't that obvious? The reason I'm curious is it seems like every time I've taken my vehicle into any shop, there's at least some mistake here or there. Time to put that money into tools I think.

Are they all supposed to look like this?

Get the shop to take care of that. The bushing isn't seated right.

I was going to mention not seeing the edges of Poly bushings, BUT, if OP got general spring/stock type replacements with pressed in rubber bushings, they could just not be visible from the angle we saw.

Either way, have the shop inspect the squeak and hit the ubolts again.

Depends on the brand. I had dakars that squeaked every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I replaced the bushings to the style you showed above which helped.

Knowing the brand would help but the shop definitely installed the bushings wrong.

Thanks all for your help, I'll drop by the shop on friday. Lesson learned, I'll have to just learn a bit more and spend my money on tools instead.

Take it back to the shop and get it fixed. Hopefully they installed new u bolts... need to retorqued after 500 miles. Ask them what they torqued them to for future reference.

Update: The shop owner took a quick look and assumed that the bushing wasn't seated all the way. He wanted to take my truck for the day to fix it, but I don't have the time since I use it as a work truck. so, he was ready to make it right. Since I have a hydraulic press, it's easy enough for me to press the bushing into the leaf a bit to center it. I have time in the evenings, but not during the day.
After getting under the truck again today and staring at the bracket and leaf for a bit, I've realized that the bushing is probably exactly where it needs to be, but that the second from top leaf in the pack is shifted slightly.

Just thought I'd throw two more pics describing my assumptions in case anyone wants to point out if I'm off base.

Ok... So "Traction" appears to be the Canadian sister company of America's Napa auto parts. Napa doesn't make parts, but they have their in-house brands.

Here is another link for the same product, through another company.

    https://www.truckspring.com/products/truck-springs/replacement-leaf-spring-90-297HD.aspx

According to this ad, that leaf pack comes with a rubber style sleeved bushing preinstalled in the leaf pack. The bushings you showed previously are poly style bushings. You won't likely see the rubber style without dismounting the pack.

I think you may be on the right track with one of the leafs being out of alignment. You might be able to take a hammer and smack it back into alignment.

As other people suggested, be sure to retorque your U-bolts after 500 miles.

I'd highly suggest investing in basic tools and doing these jobs yourself. Shops tend to cut corners and mess things up quite regularly.

    Good luck!
