The current Hatch debuted in 2018 as a '19. So the '22s mark the 4th MY. The '23s will be due a slight refresh. Should be out any day now.

2023 MY: RIP manual transmission :(

Instrument panel is nice, but holy great wall of visual obstruction and distraction!

I hate the way the touchscreens are in all the small cars. They look like a crap afterthought, or a crap's crap.

The touch screen looks like an add on in the pictures. But in person it's actually quite nicely integrated into the dash. And it's not as big of a distraction as you might think. A lot of the functions can be accessed from the steering wheel. And, like all Toyotas, all but the basic functions are locked out while moving.

I'm getting used to the tech as each day goes by. Android CarPlay is pretty damn sweet, I gotta say.

Also....that picture of the head unit was taken very low. My line of sight is considerably higher. It, in no way, impedes my vision

    ok

... hell naw, that thing would distract the bejeebus outta me, my son's Stinger is the same way. Nothing you can say will convince me otherwise. They make no effort to integrate that crap whatsoever... if they did, the top of the dashline would have some kind smooth flow across visually. I ain't drinking that kool-aid...it's nothing more than a profit grab, one screen for everything and make it fit.

... :sorry: It's a button for me.
EDIT: that damn thing would surely invoke my inner @scocar Entune Mod.

So I had the tiniest bit of "transit damage" to the new ride. It was really nothing. Just some slight scrapes underneath the "wiskers" on either side of the front. Nothing that could even be seen from up top. But I happen to notice it. They were very apologetic and offered to fix it.

It certainly wasn't worth the trouble to fix. But they offered me a couple of accessories. I snagged some sill protectors and a bumper protector.

And I already fixed the scrapes....just for shits and giggles.
