    Hi.
I would like some advice. My ac is leaking. I charged it once and everything works but it lost its cold so its leaking. Anyway, I know they say you should vacuum to system before charging, but I didnt do it, it was a dry day etc. However, if I use dye kit tO ID the leak and fix it. Can I jut fix the leak and just charge it after? I think tacos take 2 to 3 cans. But im just cusrious about the dye kit liquid in there, sealing the leak and adding freon after..

    Any advice would be helpful

    Thanks

Just putting dye in isn't gona hurt anything but don't use the cans with stop leak.

Once you find and repair the leak it's always best to pull a vacuum on the system before recharging, while you can "get by" without doing so air and moisture in the system will negatively impact A/C performance and could cause premature failures.

Factory charge is 20-22oz so just under 2 standard 12oz cans, 3 would be way too much.
