3rd Gen Magnetic Gray Thread

Picked up this clean 18 TRD Sport 3 weeks/1000 miles ago. No regrets.

Upgrades so far:
-Tyger Tonneau Cover
-LASfit LED H11 Low/high beam and fog lights

Upcoming Upgrades:
-Wheels and Tires
-Window Tint
-Rain Guards

 

Mines a manual trans. I only had it a day before I changed the tires out. I was getting 16mpg city and I’m getting the same with the new tires. But I didn’t drive it long enough stock to really get accurate numbers or to compare the ride.

 

Looks great! Is your Tyger cover a hard or soft model?

 

Thanks, stftaco! I went with the soft tri-fold model. Found it on Amazon under $250. I couldn’t justify spending the extra $$ on the hard model.

 

This is about as close to wheeling as you can get here in the Midwest.

So far I have added new TRD wheels and wildpeak at3 265/70R17 and that’s as far as the off roaring mods go. I will be moving out to the east coast in a few months so I am looking forward to a bit more terrain. Any suggestions on next mods and I should do?

 

If you can, go to silver lake sand dunes in Michigan. It'll change your mind about the Midwest. You'll love it.

 

Been a while! But a couple updates for the rig

 

I’ll have to check it out. I live in the eastern part of North Dakota, essentially nothing but plains for miles upon mile.

Hey Kids....I've been away for awhile. Got my new MGM SR5 6 months ago and I still can't keep my hands off of it. It's been awesome! Did a vacay up to northern Michigan, and another trip up to Oshkosh, WI for the airshow. Just flipped 5,000 miles on it. Mileage on the highway has been almost 27 mpg running 65 mph. Towing a small boat it got around 20 mpg....mileage has been far better than I expected, and I didn't get it tuned. I'm leaving it untuned. Only mods I've added are mud flaps, steps, and a really nicehard tonneau cover that opens in sections. I'll throw some pics up, but it looks like every other MGM SR5. I can now tow a MUCH BIGGER BOAT!!!

With the small white propane tank? That's the expedition essentials propane mount with their 5lbs tank adapter
