Howdy, I have a 2000 Tacoma Prerunner with 5VZFE. The truck has a single exhaust on the passenger side with a sensor before and after the cat. I am trying to replace the O2/air sensors but having issues with correct parts.
Spoke to a dealership and was told to use 89465-09220 (front) and 89465-09120 (rear) but got conflicting information online using a parts site with my VIN number.
Anyone able to help me sort this?

Check the emissions sticker on the hood underside.
2000 3.4L V6 were built with California emissions and Federal emissions.
    Federal uses 2 O2 sensors
California uses A/F upstream and O2 downstream.

Thanks for the heads up on the emissions and the Denso site.
Here is my sticker under the hood, so my interpretation is that I do NOT have CA emissions and need two O2 sensors.

Based on what I looked up, there are a few different options for sensors...

    234-4153
    Note: Exc. Calif.; RWD; Pre-Runner
    Label: OE Style
    Position: Downstream

    234-4162
    Note: Exc. Calif.; RWD; Pre-Runner
    Label: OE Style
    Position: Upstream

    234-4206
    Note: Exc. Calif.; RWD; Pre-Runner
    Label: Universal
    Position: Downstream

    234-4206
    Note: Exc. Calif.; RWD; Pre-Runner
    Label: Universal
    Position: Upstream

Any difference between "OE Style" and "Universal"?

    Use only OE style
Universal can be any number of undesirable differences including screw in type without flange, wire length, connector, rubber body plug, bla bla bla.

Got both sensors replaced on the truck this morning.
The nuts holding these in place were pretty seized and damn near melted onto the exhaust.
Penetrating oil, a torch, and some vice grips finally got them off.

Upstream sensor (Denso 234-4162) had a slightly different barrel size and four intake holes instead of three, not sure if it makes a difference.

The downstream sensor (Denso 234-4153) was about the same as the one it replaced.

By the way, the exhaust nuts holding the sensors in placed were completely destroyed in the removal.
The part number for replacement is 90179-08059.
