So I have the winch itself installed (not tightened down) but now the control box is looking like a problem. There is a bracket with legs on the side that appears to be for bolting to the outside of the motor housing. Plus @RCI-Offroad has a nice little ledge there for the box to be bolted down to. But since the cables are attached at the ComeUp factory and are too thick to really bend effectively, how am I supposed to mount it there?

You can see the problem. I thought about turning the box 180 degrees so the cables face out (to the right in pic) BUT that is wrong because of the bracket legs that are supposed to bolt onto the motor housing, which has corresponding bolts at the exact locations.

And of course nothing ever comes with installation instructions because since we're dudes we are supposed to be born knowing this automotive stuff I guess...

    Help!

Honestly, this may not be what you want to hear but you might have to get a bit creative here. I tried using the included mounting arms that came with my smittybilt winch, and they ended up breaking off at some point and my control box was just kinda flopping around all loosey goosey. I ended up channeling my inner redneck and just zip tied the control box to the crossbar in the front bumper area and it's been working a treat. Once it stops raining I'll go out and snap a pic. The alternative is buying a bunch of 1/0 cable and relocating it, but that would be pretty expensive and a pain in the ass to do.
