One end doesn't appear to be attached to anything, the other looks like it goes into your intake plenum.

    Hope that helps.

Early 5vz had a vacuum line connected from the intake manifold going to a vsv at the power steering pump IIRC.

IIRC, the vacuum route changed in 98. Checked your vacuum diagram under the hood to confirm what goes to where.

PO use a different year manifold?

    I think it's the same.

I figured it out. It's connected to the solenoids for the 4x4. That pipe was unconnected and it was in proximity and the correct aprox length and the right OD/ID combo.

Some say it's for 4x4, some say it's for power steering. Sounds like you found it.

I know little about 5vz's but on a 3rz that is where the vac port that feeds the power steering boost solenoid....
telling the engine to rev a little on turns....
That one hose goes to my solenoid on side of steer pump .......and then there's another hose that goes from other side of that solenoid to air intake in front of the carb......
But think this is only on 2rz/3rz's ......at least the pre 2000's

I believe on 5vz's ......thats for the ADD Actuator for front differential, for those that have that...

You got it. I have a 2000 too and on mine it connects to a check valve which then routes to ADD actuator stuff.

Right now, it is attached to a hose.
I'll put my money on that it is supposed to be attached to something else also. Possibly another length of hose?
