Truck has 1500 miles on it

If you're questioning a Tundra because you need a Toy hauler get the Tundra.

The Taco is a great toy but a toy hauler it is not.

    Oh look, another mod....
As long as your TRD Sport is equipped with the tow package, you can easily tow that camper.

This is the camper, correct? https://www.lewisrvcenter.com/rv/2020-FOREST-RIVER-NO-BOUNDARIES-10.6-16567

Tundra all day. Maybe try to tow it with the Tacoma first and see if you like the way it handles/brakes.

With the Tundra you will hardly feel it back there, Tacoma you will definitely notice it.

I have a NOBO 16.6 that weighs somewhere between 4000-4500 lbs depending on what I put it it. My Tacoma pulls it, but I'd not want any more weight behind the Tacoma. Since I also have a F150 that is what I usually pull it with. I had a pop-up prior to buying the NOBO. My pop-up was closer to 3000 lbs and the Tacoma pulled it easily. You'll never know the 10.5 is back there.

So trailer is only 3100 lb loaded? Even a minivan can tow it. If you want more pep get a tune, KDMax or OTT7.

My travel trailor (and truck) is much heavier than yours and it pulls the trailer just fine without a SC. Even though I would like one ;-). FYI I do have upgraded gears though. 4.88s.

Just because the data says you can use the Tacoma for all your stuff doesn’t really mean you should. The Tundra will be able to handle better than the Tacoma in some situations. I would go with the safety.

SC are fun but add a lot of extra moving parts that will ware and brake on you.

The new tundra looks like a solid truck. Go for that but beware of not so good resale.

    Get the hybrid.

Reminder, not just the trailer, definitely pushing the 3500 lb mark.
Hate the look of the tundra, love the size of the Tacoma. But it looks like the tundra might be the best option for towing. Have towed about 3k cross country with a 2020 quad cab, was a struggle. That’s why I went with the access cab, a little lighter truck.

The Tundra is the right choice. I worked in the RV industry for 15+ years and trying to convince people that the more you have to tow with the safer it is.

No need for the SC but get the SC anyway.

Just made the decision on the trailer, going off grid for a bit. But thanks for the sage advice

SC plus tune will put you around $8k. No way you’re trading into a new tundra for $8k.

Didn’t you say you only had 1500 miles on the truck? Going off grid in my experience takes a bit of time for planning again these questions should have been asked before you spent $40,000. So yes my sage advice was just a bit of common sense but hey it’s your $$ spend it however you want.
