I've noticed a lot of that recently. I see a lot of resentment in younger people, as though they are upset that we brought them into the world without asking them first. Still feeling entitled to nurse at Mommy's teat. Like they deserve whatever they can squeeze from an older person.

To be fair... we, as a generation, raised them to be spoiled.

One of my sisters got scammed last week. Granted she is an idiot with money and too generous for her own good... but scammers make me want to take them for a long ride in the desert.

My kids, both between 25 and 30, kinda-sorta agree with you and are quite honestly taking advantage of the situation, they are excelling compared many (most?) of their peers from school.

    Morning all:
I heard something on the radio in the 70's or 80's that I still remember, they were talking about the younger generation looking at the older folks and what they had. The substance of the discussion was that they wanted what those older folks had "NOW" instead of working and waiting for years to get it.

Darn Travir, sorry to hear about your sister being scammed, agree with a very looooong ride in the desert and maybe putting them in a container with a few rattlesnakes in it!

It's too pretty to not have on display...

Both service advisors from my stealership quit when the new owner took over, for that very reason.

Agree with the treatment of scammers.

On the rare occasion when I know a dealership Sales Associate or Service Advisor starts working me with a line of B.S., my standard response is, "Is that so, do me a favor and put all of that in writing and sign it."

So far at least, not even a single one of those con artists was stupid enough to do as I suggested.

This post is for Veterans. Others welcome to read it, but nothing here for you.
I went to the VA today. They had done a sleep apnea test on me, and wanted to make me a device to hold my jaw from sagging which contributed to the apnea. I was skeptical, but what the hell, I've got nothing to lose. I met the dentist who will be doing the job, a very attractive young lady, very pleasant, most accommodating with answers and explanations. They did a series of xrays, and she asked if I had any current dental issues. I told her that I do have a bad 2nd molar needing removal, but I don't have service related dental issues, so that's that. Not so fast! To do the apnea device, they need a stable dental platform. They are going to extract that tooth, which will cost me only my standard VA copay! My private dentist quoted me $2500 for starters, more if there were complications. I came up roses!

I never knew I was eligible for the VA till I was 71, because my 4 years active duty was during the cold war. I went with my son, who is also a Vet, otherwise I'd have never found out my eligibility. The VA has taken very good care of me in my old age, I believe better than any medical providers in my previous life. Anyone who served 90 days active is eligible, and I highly recommend the Veteran's Administration to you.

Wow, this particular variant that is going around is really tough to get rid of. I think it was 3 weeks before I actually started to feel better even though i was testing negative. My Betty still has the cough even though she is negative on the test.

when I got covid. I figured I was in pretty good shape and would roll the dice. I quarantined for 10 days since my wife had just finished her last dose of chemotherapy. Took me about 14 days for the fatigue to subside. Get well soon

Good Morning Folks. Hope and prayers for all those down with the variant of covid for a quick recovery. This has been an ongoing issue with all of us even with the vaccines and boosters. Get well folks.

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal! Got the yard mowed yesterday, cleaned the caliche (and gum) off my floor mat from my grass trip, and fussed at the pool for more hours. Been doing that all week. Most people would float, but I have to fuss. Have I finally solved the spewing zeolite? Third day staying clear! Clear enough to run a reverser on the cleaner without it jamming up, and get it to clean properly. And, my :fingerscrossed:

My wife tested positive last Wednesday. Both of us had symptoms begin a week ago on Friday. Bambi insisted it was a cold so we didn't test until some people called to tell us they'd be passing through and would like to stop by... and I thought it would be a good idea to be sure. My test came back negative but I know I've got it. This is the second time for both of us. My symptoms are light and I might have missed it being covid if it wasn't for the little electrical charges that zap me. That's happened both times I've had it. I've also had a low grade headache, which is new. Bambi has it worse. She's been coughing a lot and cold-like symptoms. This late, 7 days in, she's getting a sudden sharp pain at the top of her spine/rear of her head that goes away immediately.

The hummingbird migration is full on. We fill the six feeders a couple of times a day and will probably go through twenty pounds of sugar this month. It always amazes me how many of these birds gather, and I wonder how many of them will make it across the Gulf of Mexico and how many will make a water landing.

I sold my 1950 Oldsmobile yesterday. I hated to see it go but it needed complete floors and my welding skills are basic mud dauber. I've still got the M37 so now I can concentrate on that. I'll be doing a frame swap to get a '78 Chevy under it so I can drive it at highway speeds.

Most people currently getting Covid have cold like symptoms for about a week. After that the fatigue and tiredness seems to linger for 2 to 4 weeks. In any event this Covid crap sucks.
Regarding Paxlovid and rebound , the physicians in our Wednesday breakfast group think that the Paxlovid rebound infection is caused by not taking the Paxlovid longer. It’s prescribed for 5 days but they think if it was prescribed longer it would eliminate the rebound infection. It’s like taking a 10 day antibiotic for 5 days, the infection it’s prescribed for may likely roar back.
For those with Covid I hope you recover quickly. Rest, stay hydrated and take Tylenol to help relieve symptoms so you can come back on the porch soon.

    Morning all:
X2 on those with covid recovering quickly!!!
:annoyed: Took the crossbow out of the case yesterday and noticed that part of the string broke, NBD since replacing the string on an Excalibur is pretty easy and I do have spare strings, glad it happened now and not while cocking it or hunting with it at full draw.
Time to put a trail cam out at the house to see if anything interesting is around, charging the batteries for it now.
6 of the 10 rat traps were sprung the other day, so far I caught 2 frogs and a bird in them o_O :(, but the bear hasn't knocked the pond pipe over since I put them out. :fingerscrossed:

You play underwater hockey? Ain’t no frozen ponds around now or in the last 6 months. I’ll bet when you’re not playing underwater hockey you are a fisherman and your preferred fishing method is “Trolling”
