I simply wanted to up the bass, use existing speakers, small amp, thats all i needed..
The stealth box by JL audio for 2020 Tacoma is what I got. A little pricey and many weeks waiting, well worth it. No obnoxious boxes, or exposed wiring..goes between rear jumpers(access cab) and is only a few inches taller and WOW! Amazing product, i dont know how they did it, but im glad they did...

Actually the stock head unit handles everything. When adjusted properly you can hit 63 (stock max volume) without distortion ( within acceptable limits). People look for a big ol' box, and never see it. The JL amp came with a remote volume knob also for fine tuning..it's great. Dont get me wrong its not that system you hear coming a block away. But its loud enough to shake truck and make your ears ring. I'm a drummer, i know ear ringing...

Did you have to order it, or were you able to find it in stock someplace?

I had to order it because no one stocks 2020 boxes yet. It took about 8 weeks, it was in the middle of the plandemic so that didnt help. It should of only been 4 to 6 weeks. If the demand warrants, well you know how that goes..

Honestly what I ended up doing was going on JL's website and finding the sealed box specs for the 10tw3d4 (the sub in the stealthbox), measured out the gap between the seats and went from there. I've since put a nice pleather fabric on it with some super77 and some staples, and the kid does some work to say the least!20200425_162500.jpg 20200425_174011.jpg 20200425_160126.jpg

The stock radio begins to distort at 49.

So did you splice into your rear door signal wires to feed the sub?

I’m researching hard about putting one of these in my 2015 Access Cab. I want to keep my stock head-unit if possible.

I've had one for a few years and it's pretty sweet. While it's WAY overpriced, I don't think their is a better "out of the box" solution for an access cab. And the 5 channel Skyar amp is nowhere near "hi-fi", it fits perfectly and provides more than enough power for me.
I also replaced all speakers (Kicker) and have the flush mount Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX to finish out the system...

Edit: I also like that it (the sub) actually bolts in because safety.

The sub has its own amp right, if needed?

Yes, you can use a mono amp to power the sub. I don’t know of a JL sub box with an amp built-in though.

Does anyone else have any experience with the access cab Stealthbox? Sure looks decent installed. Those who have had one a few years- still like it? Ive have one on order for just about two months. Hoping it’s worth the wait, and the ACM-1.300 I installed runs it reasonably well.

I got mine during COIVID and had to wait about 8 months for delivery, it was worth the wait IMO. I've been using it ever since and it is still sounds awesome, I don't think you'll have any issues as long as you don't overpower it.

Ouch 8 months that’s brutal, even considering the pandemic shortages at the time. Here I am thinking I ordered it in time to get it done this summer lol perhaps not. Did you order it from Crutchfield? Happy to hear it was worth the wait. I’m not after super loud sound, just a decent bit of good quality bass while still having storage in the back.
