I'm finishing an oak end table and the :ballchain: wanted it painted.

Is it possible to poly over the paint to protect the paint so it doesn't chip or scrape off? Or will the poly not stick to the paint?

I think it will be. I have some semigloss that I'll put on the top and that will help with the durability.

If they arent used much add $50 each. Table saw is iffy, if it doesnt have the reverse polarity braking on shut down its kind of dangerous.

Rob Cosman on youtube. Bourbonmoth or the woodwhisperer. They are all very interesting and good teachers for free. Rob is intimidating at first, but he is a amazing teacher, and you can actually do anything he does if you listen.
Mark the woodwhisperer is kind, and has a school you can take by buying projects and will give you a few free to see if you like his method.

Bourbonmoth is funny, entertaining and a good wood worker, but Rob Cosman is my favorite.

I apologize I just noticed you are a lady. The wood whisperer has Ashley Harwood as a instructor and his wife Nicole also works with him.

I bring this uo because my wife after seeing Ashley and Nicole make things decided to try my lathe out. She likes to make pens now.

How about this as a concept.

    Traditional hand tool worker
    Traditional machine tool worker
    Hybrid of both.

Its fun anyway you go, but hybrid of both is what I like. It gives me a excuse to by cool hand tools and cool machine tools. Lol
