Is it common to get axle wrap with oem leaf springs 380,000 plus miles or is it my rear end... I put new bilstiens 5100 shocks and still getting this clunking when letting off my brakes on a stop... wondering if I put new springs on will that solve this issue?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Figure out the problem. I have no way to know without being up close with your truck.

    Anything is possible.

Are your springs to the point they need replaced even though it might not fix your problem

Check the drive line for worn joints check all the suspension for worn or missing bushings.

See if you have a slip yoke on the rear part of your drive shaft. If you do then pump grease into the zerk fitting next to the slip yoke. When we used to have that problem, I would pump grease until the yoke would just start to push apart but no more than 7 or 8 pumps of the grease gun. Then give it about a week to work into the splines. If that is the issue, it should stop.

I had to cut mine out too - you’ll likely run into issues with the shackles too so may want to grab a pair of those

At that mileage I'd go with leaf springs like you are and it probably also needs a carrier bearing. The driveshaft slip is another good item to check as noted above.

It probably worth taking a look at the transmission mount and motor mounts too
