unfortunately just joining the wires for the hood latch connector does not get rid of the hood ajar warning. im at a loss of how that works or how the computer senses the warning of the hood. so looks like the jumper wouldnt work in our case either way.

or am i missing a fuse that could cause the connection issue?

any chance you can share the schematic for the hood switch and possibly help me track down where it goes fuse wise (or relay)

checking the switch schematic you posted previously could you share a little more about IS4 (8)

Installed GBS kit with homemade extension harness that also ties into A33 plug to make the LED blink. The vehicle is a 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport with manual transmission. Thank you for all the info, pictures and diagrams to make this adventure successful. As you can see from the picture both lights come on and the alarm works. :):kona:

There's no fuse, it's a ground switch like when the doors are open. Maybe there's no wire leaving IS4 to M6.
    upload_2022-8-13_19-10-37.jpg
    Not 100% that's IS4, but does have 18 slots.upload_2022-8-13_19-11-32.jpg
M6 is the connector to the Main Body ECU. Driver's side.

The connector is the same, it most likely has an added number to differentiate from dummy and jumper. I'd to the wire jump first. Careful NOT to insert the wire, it will damage the terminal. Just have someone touch the terminals with the jumper wire.

Ok. Figured out that this is not a hood sensor connector but the temp sensor. The plug is the temps sensor for the dash display lol. Looks like jumping it from the ecu is what I'll try to do

Can you explain how you got your light hooked up to the security system? I also have a 2019 Sport with manual transmission. I installed the GBS but don’t know how to tie it into the security system so the led light blinks with the other security light. Thank you for the help.

Sure. @caribe makaira provided diagrams in this forum to show pin outs for A33 and M6 plugs to show what is powering the LED in your dash. Also, scattered throughout this forum are part numbers for male and female plugs and pins. I do plan to consolidate this information, but I haven't yet. #219 shows the harness I built. It is approximately 48 inch long extension that brings the GBS kit harness pins 3 & 4 from the left side to the center. It also ties pins 1 & 6 from A33 to pins 1 & 2 of the extension harness. Once the hard part of the harness is built, it was mostly plug and play. I chose the A33 plugs because I only had to crimp and pin 16 connectors vs 30 in the M6.

NOTE: Pins 1 & 6 if you have a Automatic air conditioner. Pins 1 & 12 if you have a manual air conditioner. Does your A/C controls look like the one in the photo? That is the Automatic A/C.

I might be willing to build a harness for you at cost, we can direct message on the matter.

Another option: I'm still trying to locate the same sensor minus the LED. It will be a much simpler harness build, because you just need the 48 inch extension harness and the sensor. The only way I will know for sure is to order the sensor. So I bit the bullet and ordered it. If it turns out to be the one, direct message me if you're interested in that setup or if you just want the sensor.

UPDATE: Just notified that the mystery part (possible short sensor minus LED) is now moved to Backorder. Well....

Thanks for the help. I have the automatic A/C and my GBS installed in the same location as yours under the A/C controls. I was not aware there is a sensor without the LED that fits the small slot. I sort of like the small sensor with the LED especially if it ties in with the other security light. The harness you made was it both an extension and a plug in for the security light or did you make 2 separate harness?

    It's 1 harness. Refer to post #219.

LOOK WHAT I FOUND! For all you manual transmission owners or you just want the shorter sensor to give you more places to put it. Cost me $30.00
    Part Number 08192-65810.

I called my local Toyota dealer (Canada) to order this part for my MT, they said --- yes it is a valid part number, but it is not available to the Canadian market. They suggested I order it from the US, but the cost of shipment from online part sources was the same as the part. I ended up removing the driver side cubby and installing the sensor in a add on switch panel. Oh well.

Someone said the Sr5 that doesn't have the Oem alarm working you can turn it on in techstream add the relay to the security horn spot under the hood and plug in a security horn on the passenger side and must jump the hood switch so you don't get the hood ajar light this all works but on my Sr5 I added 53510-04070 a new hood latch with the hood sensor built in now when I pop my hood the alarm will go off and show hood ajar until it is closed again. I got the latch for $57 and the GBS for $151. 2020 SR5 didn't have the oem alarm that sounded it does now and the GBS. Hood latch is easy take off 3 10mm bolts slip the cable from the holder and cable out of slot one bolt is behind a cover you pop off like a 15 min job.

below pic of hidden bolt careful not to lose the cover if pops all the way off.

slip out of holder then remove cable. No need to remove any springs the cable slips out.

    finished up.

Pull on hood with it not popped before you start and see if you feel any play then after you add the new latch to make sure it has no play and feels the same!!

pic of the only difference the sensor they added.

I extended my mic wire cut and soldier back and put the mic where the media/usb plug was moved that to the glovebox because I have a wireless CarPlay adapter plug in there and wanted it out of the way.

Did you have to turn anything on with tech stream when you added just the new hood latch? I like this solution as well but I just need it to satisfy the hood pin condition on a remote start install. I don't want to have to add the clunky hood pin and wiring that come with the remote start system.
