    Hey Guys,
Long time lurker on the forums but I finally decided to make an account as I cannot seem to find a conclusive answer to some questions about my 2019 TRD Pro with the magnuson TVS 1900 kit. Essentially I am looking at getting the exhaust set up better for the FI. I was curious if anyone has run the high flow cats from aFe for the 3.5 3rd gens with a magnuson and if they have had any issues. I am also thinking of going with the dirty deeds equal length exhaust to get a little less restriction after them. I am curious if anyone has run anything similar? I see on some of the older threads for second gens these cats have a reputation for getting burned up and am not going to drop 1400 bucks to have to re-replace them. I am aware of the EPA regulations and the whole thing that brought this on is during a recent move the local crack head team tried to get as much of the exhaust as possible off the truck. So what better time then now to get more performance or at least noise from the vehicle. Any help with this or at least pointing me towards a better thread would be really appreciated.

JIC anyone is looking and this thread comes up. I went ahead and did the URD MRK 2 exhaust with the secondary cat delete, afe high flow dump tubes and chopped the exhaust right above the axle. Of course threw CELs at each step of the way but was able to get them cleared with some help of the guys at white cyclone in San Antonio and a new set of NGK front O2 sensors. Got the Stryker tune as well. Really happy with the truck but would NOT recommend the AFE high flow cat dump tubes. The workmanship is terrible for 1300 tubes and they interfered with the steering shaft requiring some adjustment.

Do you think the URD tubes would give more clearance and would the code be able to be written out due to having no cats? I am not looking to run the charger as of yet but would still like to free up the exhaust for another 0.01hp and 0.0001mpg improvements.

@byebyebhg it would say its tighter to the body of the truck, lowest part is easily the crossmember now. Had the codes written out so no c.e.l. which is nice to have cruise control again.

Thank you. What do you think about the URD vs. the AFE tubes you had trouble with? Might the URD offer more clearance?

I wanted to keep one set of cats so I got the AFE tubes. Frankly, I do not know why i thought it was a good idea. The afe product was terrible. Awful welds throughout and where the tube met up with the flange at the proximal aspect, there were huge metal burrs and gaps between the two surfaces. Not to mention they cost about 850 more. Someday i will swap them with the URD catless dump tubes. As far as clearance? I am unsure if the urd will be better as the afe rubbed on the steering yoke between the intermediate and lower shaft. I ended up having to get it off and essentially polish the whole cast piece to get clearance, then change the bolts to lower profile varients. It looks like the urd has a little bend to account for this but I cannot be sure. Either way, you are just better off avoiding the afe I promise.

I’ve been hoping to go this route for some time now but have been afraid to do so as reliability is significantly more important to me. Thank you for the bump in the right direction!
