Weird and wild question: I have in my currently in my possession my new-to-me 2017 SR which I am really happy with. I also have not yet sold my 2007 TRD.

As an SR, the new truck doesn't have a locker but my old truck does. Now I know most 3rd gens have the 8.8 diff but the SR still has the 8. Does anyone know if I can swap the 2nd gen eLocker into the newer truck? I don't believe I can swap just the diff but what about the entire axle?

    Is this even remotely possible?
Is there a reason I am not foreseeing where the 2nd gen axle is a downgrade in some way?

    Cheers

    Larry

Since you have a MT SR, it has the larger rear.

Dangit. And the ratiois wrong to swap the whole axle best I can tell. The OR should have a 3.73 and the SR should have 3.90 I think...
