Well that’s good to know, learned something today.

@jjsooner, trace the connections and see if they go to another black module.

Look on your door jam and see if the applied the ID numbers for the module. Click your Lock button 3x and if your truck starts more than likely you have a aftermarket remote starter.

Yep, that 'generic' module is exactly what I have - but I can't (easily) find the corresponding N2 module. However...note the OP in the post you attached was selling their starter because the 2020s came equipped with one, and see my reply below...

There are actually two labels in my jamb, one that matches all info exactly and another that has the same FCC ID but different SN, IMEI, etc.

Don't the 2020s and newer come from the factory with fob-remote start? Is this all part of how Toyota does it?

Thanks all for being diligent in working to solve this.

Your only real option is to follow the wires to see if it goes to one of those other modules posted above or simply taps into a wire for power purposes. I have that exact module in my truck, it's called "ascl6" that I installed to allow remote start via smart phone.

However I installed this myself and it goes to a aftermarket remote starter. My truck is a 2019 and did not come with it from the factory.

I had a dealer installed tracker/alarm system on my 2022 Civic. I declined to pay for it so they "didn't install it." Well 2 months into owning the car the alarm starts going off uncontrollably, in a busy shopping center. People starring at me, looked like I was trying to steal my own car.

Called my friend that works at Honda Corporate and he walked me through all these ideas that didn't work. I didn't have a 10mm socket on me to disconnect the battery. I walked away from the car as it blared for over 15 minutes.

Had AAA tow it to the dealer. It took a serious email to every Corporate manager I could find in that company/dealer. They removed the system for free.

What pissed me off the most is the unit is literally screwed to the lower outside of the dash. So now I have 2 holes in my dash. What's worse is they cut and bypass your ignition/starting wires!! My electric system will never be factory original! Cut and spliced wires!

I have heard of slimy dealers trying to add on cost for already installed things. They don’t tell you how to activate or use them. Look at the sticker if you have doubts they should be listed there. Good luck
