i couldn’t find a post on this issue through a search, but maybe I missed it.

Went to fold the tonneau cover yesterday and when I grabbed the release handle for the first part of the cover, it was all the way out already and when I pushed it back in, it wouldn’t grab to pull the mechanism to unlatch and allow it to fold. Just kept coming out and had no spring back, if that makes sense.

Anyone have this happen? I’ll have it fixed under warranty, but where the handle rod enters into the enclosure, I’m guessing that’s where it needs to be engaged to allow for the mechanism to pull. Perhaps it’s an easy fix with the right parts and I could do it.

Any thoughts or areas you can point me to? Even a google search came up with nothing, or I didn’t string together what is need to pull a result.

    Thanks for your help!

Yes, had it fixed under warranty. The entire handle was replaced. I even asked if I could pick up the part and install myself, but they wouldn’t allow that if it was under warranty. Took them about 30 minutes total.

Hey guys I’m having the same issue with my oem hard tonneau cover on a 21 army green trd sport taco 5ft , the first section and the last work just fine but the mid day he handle has no tension like a spring snap or something, the tonneau is not under warranty so I’m trying to get a part number to order it and and fix it myself

@Amouret87 go to the part’s department, ask them to go out to the truck with you and show them the part. It’s an entire handle contraption that is easy to install on your own. I took mine apart a few times prior to going the warranty route.

If you call them, they should be able to look up the tonneau cover handle release.
