    So a little back story,
About a week ago I was getting on the freeway and when shifting from 5th to 6th I felt a little stutter in the clutch medal(which was new). Over the last week there has been audible noise and the stutter has stayed. It has all had no effect on my ability to drive and shift though.

Finally, today I pulled off the little peep hole cover on the transmission and find my clutch fork and tob jittering and here is my video

I’m asking for yalls help on what it may be that I’m seeing, is my transmission trash now and do I need a new one?

Looks like a replacement release bearing is in order. Either that or maybe the pivot ball that holds the shift fork came loose, but I’ve never heard of that happening on these trucks. Either way you have to drop the trans to fix.

    I agree.
I believe part of the problem the Release/Throw-out bearing goes bad in these transmissions is because the lack of a pilot bearing. Or at least that’s a theory that has been presented by a few well know transmissions guys on this forum. (You probably know who they are)

The 5spd trans used in the 2.7 doesn’t have this problem.
But it does suffer from the same “squeaking” pedal as the 6spd.

It appears that the clutch needs to be adjusted so that the throw out bearing isn't pressed against the pressure plate fingers so much. It seems to be spinning and hard against the fingers.
