With the Ford somone could make a shitter that drops down into the frunk, just unplug it before you use it. Can't do that with the Rivian frunk.

I think we’re talking about two different percentages here. I’m referring to how much of the available range/battery they lost not the percentage from full. They lost 20% of the available battery each night.

It’s too bad you have to position The Love Toilet in the middle of the room. Really makes it hard to retrofit and I’m sure that’s why they aren’t available anymore.

Dude, he's not even a third inbred cousin of Batacoma; I haven't blocked him.

And planners, man, it's planners! Unless we're talking woodshop and augers and stuff again. Then planers might be germane.

I see what you're saying but it's just a weird way of saying it.

When I say I've used a "quarter" (25%) tank of gas it's from the total. Not a quarter of what I had when I parked it last.

Makes more sense, to me anyway, to work from 100% instead of an arbitrary number that changes every night. They would have lost a varying percentage of what was available if you looked each night working out to 80% only on the fourth day. The numbers would be totally different on the second day. 10%/per night is consistent no matter how many days.

I think the “planer” preceeded the “jetsetter”

I agree with you on that. It’s just most of the article was focused on how much range the writer had when they got to the campsite and then lost.

@Irons et al. would do well to also read the actual article and its source.

It's not "California Urges Avoiding Charging Electric Cars to Ward Off Blackouts in Heatwave Because State Loses Solar Power When the Sun Goes Down"

--The bulletin said to to reduce the charging of EV cars, using big appliance use, etc. during the hours of 4-9 p.m.

Gateway Pundit is 100% shit writing.

    LOL!

We had air cooled VDubs, we always called it a trunk. Never heard the term until EVs started getting popular.
    LOL!

This x1,000. I've been sent that bulletin via social media about 6x today and I just copy/paste a similar response to all of them. But reading the entire thing doesn't play into anti-EV rhetoric like that clickbait boomer headline does.

A fraction of a % of EV drivers charge during peak demand hours. It costs 4x more per kWh (with SoCal Edison) & there's no need for 99.99% of us to do that. We set the car to charge overnight off peak & sleep soundly.

But that will cause the entire electric grid to collapse and be destroyed if all those EVs are charging at the same time!! AHHHHH!!!! /s <That means im being sarcastic for the sarcastic deficient.

It will probably take 25 years for America to become 10% EV. That's an extremely generous prediction.
