When the end of month hits, dealerships start to make "deals"...

What started a long while ago as a hunting expedition for a long bed SR5 4x4, ended up with a $1000 price drop on this sucker, because I leveraged my instinctive negotiating skillz.

Salesman called a few days ago wanting to make a deal on an SR that was still on the lot, because he was still unsure when the next SR5 would be available and approaching end of model year slimpickings season. I countered with a "what about the two Off Roads you still have?"

Transferred to the Sales Manager, gave me the $1000 off deal and I told him I would think about it and what was happening with Military Veteran deals? He pulled up the Toyota rule book which arbitrarily states that you have to finance through Toyota AND be separated within 2 calendar years to qualify (horsehit)... I told him that wasn't what I expected from Toyota who claims to be a proud sponsor of our military forces. We settled on a free tint/protection package at $398.

I am completely in love with this truck and can't wait to jump it!

Sticker... they are one of the few dealers that have been staying at MSRP, that's how you know you're dealing with a good business. Another dealership in Houston tried to convince me that every Toyota shop was being forced to add market adjustments... I laughed and I laughed.

 

With $1000 of sticker, now you have enough for the mods! Nice truck

 

This was a dealer in Houston? Which one? Thanks for sticking to your guns. More people need to so the populace can send a message to the asshats.

 

Joe Meyers Toyota... I didn't even go there because my brother in law said it was an absolute shit show of sleazy sales tactics... the guy I was in communication with tried to tell me he could possibly talk to his manager about bringing the "Market Rate Adjustments down a little" I told him not to bother.

When the sales manager made an attempt the next day I told him he should be ashamed of himself for promoting absolute lies about "all Toyota dealers are doing this..." and not to ever call me again.

Don Ringler in Temple has been in the same location for over 40 years, but you can easily tell who you should/should not work with if they have "Call for pricing" listed for a vehicle.
