    Hello TacomaWorld,

I'm obligated to say "this is my first post so please be nice to me....".

Ok, with that out of the way, I fully disclose that trucks and wheeling is newer to me, but I've ridden and worked on motorcycles and mountain bikes for 20 years. In my experience with getting to and from trailheads with my bikes, working on cars and trucks is not a totally new concept and I do most of my own work on my vehicles with the tools I have.

Onto the question, and I'm really just looking for opinions on whether this is a bad idea: I've got a RetraxOne XR cover. I'm debating picking up a bed header deck rail, shortening it a few inches, then using some epoxy to fasten it to the tonneau cover's canister. The end goal is to mount a pair of ARB TRED PRO boards to it. The side rails of this truck already have other tools attached, and I don't run a bed rack, just crossbars and no molle panels - so I'm looking for a way to attach the recovery boards to the inside of the bed. I live in an urban area here in Denver, so leaving things bolted (even with a lock) on the outside of the truck is not a good idea.

Does anyone see this being a bad idea? The boards are less than 20 lbs so I don't think weight attached to the canister would matter much, but I am not completely sure. Also, I wouldn't want to go to the trouble (and spending the cash) on attaching a rail to the canister if the recovery boards end up being too wide to fit between the wheel wells.

Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated, and I hope this first post is ok and follows the rules of the forum.
