    Say, you took your old one off and were waiting for the new one to come in the mail.

    I know the rear one is easier to get away with because it isn't as obvious if you remove all the right parts. But, what about the front?

    It would have to be a really bored cop. The question is, why take it off prematurely? That's being awfully optimistic that the new one won't be damaged/lost/backordered.
