our minivan only blows cold air for about a month before needing a can of r134. I put dye and couldn't find any external leaks. I popped off the glovebox and immediately saw a leak right at this connection point which I think is the evap core? I don't even want to guess how much this is going to cost to replace...

this van has a lot of problems for only having 118k miles.. my wife must drive like shit. might be time to get her into something newer although no car payments has been nice.

You're probably looking at $1,100-$1,200 if you do it through a mechanic, and up to $1,600 through a dealer...

    Reserected from the dead.
    That's not easy to fix.

I feel your pain. I've pulled the dash a few times. Not impossible, but not oil change easy.

I've had to pull the bottom dash apart like 3 times to replace that servo that changes the climate zone. that was enough for me tbh.

Also, you must have a really bad leak, because my Tacoma's A/C never actually stopped blowing cold. It would start blowing warm out of the passenger side, while staying cold on the driver's side, and that's how I would know it was time for a recharge; I had to have it charged three different times between June 2017 and September 2018 before the source of the leak was discovered!

that's actually exactly the problem. it just starts blowing warm on driver side. the passenger side is always ice cold.. even on max heat because the servo on that side went bad recently :p

I never had a problem with the heat. My frame was replaced under recall last November, and the A/C had to be evacuated of R134a and disassembled because the whole engine obviously had to come out. They don't reuse evacuated refrigerant, so the frame replacement included recharging the A/C.
