Has anyone used plexiglass or aluminum sheets 3/16" over top the rack? I've been thinking if I can place 3 piece length wise with flush mount bolts I could cut down wind noise and drag when the rack isn't in use. I like the 3 piece idea bc it would allow quick removable of section of the rack that would be used for attachments.

    Hey Princu owners.
Does anyone know what the installed weight is of the rack system?
I'm looking for the lightest possible rack option to replace my factory rack. It needs to be good for at least 150# and handle wind sheer against 16 ft long kayak hulls. Princu should be strong enough but I need light weight as well

Kinda late but maybe this can help others on the forums.

I installed a prinsu on DCSB with a sunroof. I left off the first two crossbars so that way it wouldnt obstruct my view/sun exposure when I open my sunroof/shade. My thought was I can always add the additional two when I need it.

Wind noise isnt too bad after 45-50 mph, but it is noticable. Closing the sunroof shade also cuts down on the noise. Make sure you spend a little extra on the weather stripping on the faring.

Does the added front weather stripping touch/rub the top of the roof? Will it damage the paint later on?

I know that this is an old thread,, but well, here I go... Yes, it was worth. Prinsu racks are one of the best you can get. It hurts the MPG a little bit, to tell you the truth nothing you have to worry about. In my case, I have it without the strip and and the noise does not impact me that much.

There’s a lot of drag with definite increased wind noise and a bit of mpg drop with the prinsu rack. I drown out the wind noise with my music so it’s not a concern. It’s sturdy but surprisingly lightweight imo. Install was a bit of a pain but I would definitely recommend it.

Do you guys have any recommendation for a good bed rack? I was checking for these tacoma bed racks. I really loved the Leitner Designs Bed rack, but... that price is crazy for me... the tuff stuff is cheap but I am not convinced about the quality.. maybe I should go intermediate level with the Thule bed rack.

Not sure if you want to hear it but every time I’ve mentioned prinsu I’ve always been directed to get a sherpa instead
