I ordered some Bilstein 6112s on circlip 5 for my double cab 4x4. I am wondering if I should put them down to circlip 4. I don't want a harsh ride around town or more than 2.75" of lift once they settle.

Anyone have bad experiences on circlip 5? Anyone move from 4 to 5 or vice versa?

    Thanks

That's funny... I actually moved from clip 4 to 5 yesterday. Not much difference in ride quality, but it helped reduce the rake. Bilstein says their shocks were designed to keep their characteristics at all five settings, but setting 5 would max out the preload (quoted from the thread linked below). From the top of the plastic hub to the bottom of the fender, truck is exactly 20.5" in the front and 24" in the back.

    6112s front
    5100s rear
    OME heavy leaf springs
    Stock tires (for now)

Edit* - Of note, my ABS light and traction control light both came on after bumping up from the 4th to 5th clip setting. I'll try resetting the VSC this weekend. If that doesn't work, then I guess it was just enough to stretch or break my wheel sensor wires.

I’ve had mine since 2017 I believe . On the top setting . No problems . Just avoid those potholes

Is it pretty harsh on potholes? Obviously don’t want to aim for potholes but is there addrd discomfort through them?
