Totes that organize and maximize storage under Tonneau

Hey, I've searched the threads but can't find a good answer and thought other tacos might have the same question.

I just ordered a tonneau cover and will want a good way to organize and maximize the space in the bed when the tonneau is covering the bed. My family will be keeping some beach stuff and camping stuff in the truck to give you and idea of what we are planning to store there.

It would be awesome to hear some ideas for what you all are using for storage under tonneau covers. At first I was thinking I could buy several totes and play a game of tetris lol. But I think it would be nice to have some parts of the bed free and available for more junk.

I think a decked system would be the best if you want to spend the money.

 

I thought about those, but it would be nice to be able to take everything out and use the whole bed at times.

 

Honestly I just use the ones from home depot. I bungie some stuff with the rails under the tonneau. Like the camping chairs live there 24/7. I also have an accessory mounting plate on the driver side to support a hatchet/shovel

Edit: Also get a header rail to mount whatever you want to keep 24/7, for me its the home of my recovery boards

 

The wolf pack pro boxes are great imo. Two stacked on top of each other fit under my Diamondback cover with very little wasted space. It’s a good way to separate gear into different categories and minimize bed space used.

Geez, when I need waterproofI use garbage bags or a big dry bag. I always unload what I don't need. It not like on a Wednesday everyone decides last minute to go to the beach at 4pm. World does not work that way. You at least get a day to plan your load.
Get a few totes, unloaded, then load up what you need the next few days. Not hard.

I use these under my tonneau. They come in handy bringing home the groceries.

I use plano sportsman totes. Small ones fit in my rack, and I put the bigger ones in the bed.

 

I use Husky professional series totes from Home Depot, waterproof, 6 latches an rubber gasket in lid, the 20 gallon fit under my tonneau cover.

 

8 milk crates...done.

 

How durable are those? I bought some Craftsman totes from Lowes in a hurry for a trip. The plastic is fairly brittle and doesn’t like to be tossed around.

The tote itself has some flex to it an thick plastic. I've had 2 totes for 3yrs now, spent lots of time in freezing cold during hunting months in bed of truck, loading in/out, bouncing around. Little pricy but worth it I think, I'm not easiest on them. The lid is thick clear plastic not as much flex as tote but haven't cracked one yet.
