AGM seems to be gone. What is the AGM that is recommended now? Also, what alternator boost are people using for the 2nd gen? Did some looking but what I found was from 2019-2020 and not available anymore.

    Thanks in advance

There are three voltage booster choices from HB Electronics but all show out of stock.

One is on ebay for $685, plus shipping.

My AGM is a not-fancy model, 34F Deka Intimidator - I don't know who it’s suppose to intimidate. Coming up on six years and still ticking. Truth be told, its the auxiliary battery and doesn't see many cranks. The primary battery is a 24F Interstate regular flooded battery from Costco ($89 when I got it, now up to $110). Costco does carry an AGM 24F Interstate ($180) but only in select stores.

Email the company that makes the booster, they were out of stock when I bought mine too, and they're not $685 normally, well under $100

    I’ve got an X2power 27f agm. It’s a rebranded North Star

you don’t have to worry about to voltage booster unless you really want to. We’ve got them in 2 trucks with the stock voltage output and it’s just fine.

The problem with a-typical batteries is when it finally does die you can’t run down to auto parts place and replace same day. It’s also difficult to do a warranty claim.

That said, I’m running two Odyssey and one optima yellow top

I second the X2 Power battery from Batteries Plus. 2 years problem free so far.

I recently spoke with a guy who worked at the battery factory in San Antonio.

He said they made almost all of the non-AGM’s, and they’re all exactly the same internally.

2-year, 3-year, 5-year warranty, Interstate, Autozone, Costco, etc.. the only difference was the specific gravity of the acid.

I tried to get more info on the acid, but he couldn’t recall the variances.

I asked him what he buys for his cars and he said the cheapest one that fits because they’re all the same.

Yep, $35 when I got mine, then years later I saw the price went up to $50 - for the non-adjustable ones. That one on ebay is ridiculous.

I live in the middle of nowhere, so the nearest battery was 4 1/2 hours away. NAPA promises to have an Odyssey Extreme here by the 12th with some shipping. Paying a premium for this beast so I hope its good...

I used Advance Auto Diehard AGM 24F Battery ($240) 3-year replacement and 7-year proration.
Had previous Advance AGM and now they use the Diehard name.
Never changed my alternator output and never a problem in 8 years so...
Charges at 13.4 volts as I have a USB plug in charger for the power socket with a digital voltmeter.

3rd with the X2. Also running the voltage booster, although general consensus says you don’t really need it, especially if you drive a lot.
