Big Sur trip this passed weekend. Camped by the river, hiked up the gorge to swim, and checked out point lobos reserve.

I just bought a '14 tx baja, ive wanted one since I first saw one in 2014 but my finances were a complete mess. 8 yrs later and finally found one after years of searching, thing is near mint with under 40k on the clock but the front suspension makes a noise similar to a donkey going over large humps or big dips, i have sprayed eveything with silicone & then at-205 but noise is still there..any insight would be much appreciated.

Check your red springs over really well. They have been known to crack and fail. They do sell replacements for these shocks if they are broken.

If you do a quick search specifically in this thread, I know there have been pics posted of those who unfortunately had a cracked spring. It was a hot topic for the oem Baja/pro springs a year or so ago in this thread. I believe I posted the oem part number and pic of the replacement spring as well. Nice find by the way. That is very low miles. Mine is a 14 as well and have just under 60k on mine.

Thanks! I am glad to be here..Ive had a 98 2.4 4x4 manual extended cab Tacoma several years ago that i sold to buy a '78 fj55 since i was only allowed to have one vehicle where I lived & regretted selling the truck ever since.

With these cracked/broken coil springs is there an alternative more robust spring to use? whats to keep this from happening again? Seems severly premature for a spring to break at such low miles n light use.

I’m not sure of what other springs could be used. Personally I’d just buy the replacements with the hope that they were made better. Or, I’d just upgrade the suspension entirely.

I havent made it out to check for breaks just yet being its pouring rain but I have noticed the front springs are a bit rusty and the red paint is mostly cracked & peeling off so replacing would definatley help my ocd with that issue. lol. The rest of the underbody and suspension parts look great however.

You were right! Passenger side spring broken on the bottom. Incredible.

Lookup the part number in this thread in case they try and tell you they can’t find it
