Thanks. For some reason I'm super afraid of using barbells, even the small ones. I just know I'm going to end up hurting my old ass self.

I’m 36, partner, and lifted in high school, some in college, and then again recently with 10+ yr breaks in between. Just focus on form, the body adapts and handles the weight more and more over time.
Nothing better than achieving a goal when it comes to lifting a particular weight that seemed impossible months or years prior.
And it’s the cheapest “lift” you’ll read about on here.

Being 41 myself, I know how it feels when you're looking in the mirror and thinking, "What happened to my younger self?" But it’s awesome that you want to start working out now!

46 and I lift and and train jiujitsu to stay fit but absolutely nothing wrong with body weight work outs.

Sometimes staying at hotels that don't have gyms it's all I have to get a small workout in. You can still blast your core, arms and legs effectively.
