I've searched and can't find the answer to this. Seems like if I want to upgrade from the called for 7442NA bulb to LED I will have to change to 7443 turn signal/parking light and lose the daytime running light option. Do I understand this correctly?

I bought some from VLEDs that worked. Keeps all factory functionality and is stupid bright.

    https://www.vleds.com/shop-bulb-numbers/7443/v6-triton-extreme-kit-a-7443.html

Also 7443 and 7442NA are interchangeable. The only difference is the wattage of the bulbs. I think the 7442 are 28w and the 7443 are 25w. I had hyper flash on some cheap ones from Amazon but the VLEDs had none. I think it because they are so bright that they pull enough for the ECU to stay happy.

Quick question for you guys. I too bought some cheap LED bulbs off Amazon. The stock halogen bulbs dim a bit when you’ve got the fogs and/or headlights on. But the LED ones don’t, they’re either on or off. Do the VLEDS function the same as factory? Or do they turn off too when running fog lamps and/or headlights?

    AMBER:
V6 Extreme is too bright and should not to be used in a DRL application that runs the high mode continuously. You're going to want to use the standard V6 Triton for the DRL bulb:
    https://www.vleds.com/shop-application/turn-signals-front/v6-triton-kit-a-7443.html

    SWITCHBACK:
If you want them to be white when you are in DRL mode you will want to buy these:
    https://www.vleds.com/shop-application/turn-signals-front/v6-extreme-wa-switchback-7443.html

You can also hook up the Dim Wire to the headlight positive to reduce the white output to 10% when the headlights are on or you can hook it up to the Amber Parking to have the Switchback become dim amber when the headlights are on.

I have these V6 Amber extreme, the bulbs enter parking mode or DRL mode when the voltage is low, they just emit a faint light bright enough for DRL's case

they just cannot be running full brightness as DRL

Thanks for the heads up! I ended up buying the normal V6 Triton, not the Extreme.

the V6 Amber extreme can sense the voltage, during turn signal, or full voltage, they are bright AF
they also imitate the stock halogen behavior having the dim mode for DRL and parking light when voltage low

the best part is, when you have DRL parking light on and you make a turn signal, it will shut off the dim mode giving you a crisp on and off experience. This the stock halogen bulb can't do

I'm not sure on running fog or headlights on the Tacoma, I used these on the 4Runner turn signals. The 4Runner front turn signal, when headlights are on, serves as parking light too.

if you'r replacing the bulbs, they should behave exactly as the halogen would behave because you're not changing the wiring

they should work similar, normal v6 triton has low output mode too, but it might not have extreme's clean cut off

You can't run the V6 Extreme Amber on a DRL application like an SR5 Tacoma. Your TRD has LED DRL strips so it only used the turn signal as a turn signal.

SR and SR5 should use V6 Triton Amber (non-Extreme) or the V6 Extreme Switchback only.

I see, your website featured vehicle lists, 16+ Tacoma recommended front turn signal V6 Triton Amber, and on 14+ 4Runner recommend V6 Extreme Amber.

I'm guessing Tacoma SR and SR5 DRL must be causing V6 Extreme Amber to run at high output all the time as opposed to dim mode, and that's why only V6 Triton recommended for Tacoma.

I do have V6 Extreme Amber on the 4Runner front turn, and at night it's in dim mode like this

That's what I put in my Tundra for front turns, I'm happy with them.

I've been playing with those bulbs (front and rear) in my 4Runner for about a year now. They are indeed very bright, but the claim that they do not hyperflash is false. If you have your directional or 4 ways on for more than a minute or two, they go into hyperflash. According to LASFIT, this is due to internal circuitry that reduces the duration of the flash when the bulb exceeds a certain preset temperature level to protect the bulb. I've had the V6 Tritions in the past in my Tacoma and really liked them. I may switch to them.

Same, I had lastfit on my Miata, more than 2 mins of usage will cause hyperflash too. So you can't really flash hazard for long in those. And they would get HOT, I haven't tried it but could get hot enough to melt the light housing.

The V6 Extreme I put in the 4Runner, I don't need resistor for the rear 2 turns, but I do need to use resistors for the 2 front turns.
Although they don't hyper flash ever with resistors, I think I wouldn't leave the hazard on for more than 20 mins, VLEDS do say that not to run those extreme bulbs for more than 10 mins continuously

Any chance you could send me a link to the VLED bulbs you put in your T4R? When I tried to order them when I first got my 2021, they told me none of the V6 bulbs would fit in the rear directionals - just the fronts. It is pretty tight back there. Thanks.

    this is the kit

they fit my 2022 perfectly (as long as you use the correct socket pattern and gasket), I'm sure your 2021 is unchanged.
I've been running them for almost 4 months now, rear turns without resistors never fail. Front 2 you have to install the provided resistors, there are plenty of flat surfaces once you pry open the wheel well and it's not difficult.

I had to buy a small size heat gun to get inside the wheel well to heat up the shrink wrap, but this is the kinda stuff you want to do it right and never touch it again, so take your time

Anyone have any recent experience with VLED V6 Triton on SR5 DRL/turn signal? I tried some LEDs that weren’t happy with the lower output DRL and also maintaining the functionality of the turn signal as well. Looking for LED that mimics same functionality of stock bulb.

I had the V6 Tritons in my 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport and have the V6 Triton Extremes in my 2021 4Runner SR5 Premium. Zero issues.
