For the first time in over 10 years, depending how the next few weeks go, I may be leaving a job and it won’t be because of management.

UPDATE: The Saturn belongs to one of the electrical techs at my work. His mom bought the car new and it only has 88K miles! The A/C leaks, but other than that the car is in perfect working order. This Saturn is from the era when a Saturn was a Saturn and not a badge-engineered piece of junk!

My aunt's first brand new car was a 1992 Saturn SL2, before which she had a 1982 Mercury Lynx (Ford Escort clone) with no A/C and no intermittent wipers. She kept that car going well beyond its useful service life because it was basically given to her for free and she wanted to save money. She bought a special ordered a teal green 1992 Saturn SL2 with every available option and paid like $12K out the door. The car has A/C, automatic, cruise, tilt, power windows and locks, and a cassette player. She had the Saturn for almost a decade and it gave her no problems, though she did tell me she the A/C was retrofitted to R134a at some point before she sold it. The only reason she sold it when she did is because she was working for the CDC by then, and her position within the CDC had her moving to Zimbabwe in 2001. She lived in Zimbabwe for five years and drove a JDM 1996 Honda Ballade that she bought while she was over there, then bought a new 2007 Subaru Impreza when she came back stateside and moved to the Atlanta suburbs. She moved to Kenya and bought a JDM RAV4 while she was living there. She is currently living in Georgia again and driving a RAV4 (obviously US-spec) that she bought new.

Sometimes that is the prefect time to go to the beach. You can just stand there and listen to the ocean, smell the salt air and no crowds or frisbee's to dodge.

    Working on it
I saw the best thing ever on the way home.

A cop pulled over an out of state driver camping in the passing lane on i80. They were sitting in the normal spot so I slowed down to the speed limit in the right lane, other person slowed way down in the left lane (where they had been for the past 5 miles or so..) so I ended up passing him on the right in front of the cop. Cop lets it go, but then about a mile down the road zooms up on the guy (still in the left lane) and follows him for a bit. I saw the lights come on just as I was turning down the ramp.

Finally got some rain here today, and it cooled off. Used that time here to finish wiring up my high hats on the back porch, I am happy with the spacing and light dispersion. In two weeks the teardown starts to redo the ceiling and glass it in. Don't mind my dead lawn, mother nature has not watered the weeds in a quite a while before today

i was in management my last career, that shit is for the birds. Performance reviews, diversity and inclusion goals, documenting feedbacks. Whatever happened to hiring the best person for the job and smacking the shit out of them when they suck at their job :annoyed:
