I'm trying to program a new chipped key. When I put my working key into the ignition the blinking security light doesn't go out. I try the process to get the red light to stay on solid but it just keeps blinking. Any help would be awesome. I am becoming very frustrated.

Are you trying to do the door locks or the immobilizer? Will it start with the key? If it doesn’t you need to have it programmed with techsteam or lock smith

I already was able to program the remote. The key I have starts the vehicle but when inserted it does not stop the security light to go out. I am trying to program a new key that is a d chip and has already been cut.

Been here.... Broke that. I searched high-end low, but things on eBay, and could not get what I needed which was three brand new keys programmed. I have the keys and the thing I bought on eBay would only do two.

I found the locksmith who could program all three of my keys in about 15 minutes for 50 bucks. That was some of the best money I spent on this truck. Having spent hours trying the pedal, dance and everything else I found; The locksmith was by far the quickest, easiest and ultimately cheapest solution.

Put the key in turn to on then off, do it 5 times quickly. Do this if the new key starts the car

    Working on it!
If your key doesn’t make the door sensor beep when inserted, your key sensor might be messed up. I have to push in and back slightly for it to sense my key. I figured this out after trouble shooting why I couldn’t program a new FOB.

I also am tryin to figure out the sequence for Taco’s to program a key. is it the insert key 5x and open door 6x?! I’m having same issue and I can’t find instructions anywhere for Tacoma, only other Toyotas.

The fob method is fairly easy and there are videos on YouTube as well.
