    News Update...

On the busiest weekend for travel the latest data indicates that:

95% of electric vehicles are still on the road.

The other 5% made it home...

    That is all...

    ha....

I did about 130 miles today with our Nissan Leaf. Just driving around picking up a friend from the airport and what not. Id like to pickup another one to use to commute to and from work because Tacomas are so well known for their great fuel mileage.....

I too wish I could find a leaf for most of my needs. I'd keep the Tacoma but the leaf makes so much sense for my needs. What are your averages?

Its my wifes car and she drives 5 miles to and from work...total. We live close by. But weekends its our main vehicle unless we need to go outside its range and dont feel like dealing with finding a DC fast charger for it. I love the car except the dead format Chademo fast charger. If Nissan, well Japan, had adopted CCS Extended it wouldnt be an issue. I generally have no issue finding a chademo charger in our area, we just don't really take it on drives outside its range which with 170 miles (guess o meter on the dash) is fine for 90% of our "long drives"

We did have to warranty the battery since it went below 4 bars of health with only 17k on the clock, but I suspect it was the FL heat that did it. They replaced it in a week with a 40KWH battery, original was 30 KWH. So it was a nice free upgrade. We keep it at or only go to 80% State of Charge most of the time to keep the cells happy and only go to 100% when we know we need the full range.

I traded my 2018 Chevy Volt for my Tacoma. I regret it some days but I needed a truck for most of my hobby stuff and I like pulling people of of ditches on the way to work. It's a good truck, wouldn't trade it for anything.

I try to educate the uninformed and most times their incorrect knowledge of electric cars is changed. Most are blown away that the electric car was more prevalent before internal combustion took over.

I never quite understood why automakers never just went full on with a series hybrid instead of the parallel hybrid like the prius. My volt was a series hybrid like a diesel locomotive. slap a small 3 cyl diesel in there to turn the generator and it will easily get 100 MPG plus. I used to go 3 months without putting gas in with my Volt. Full electric range averaged out to 58 miles which was perfect for almost all of my driving.

Does the electric Harley retain an oil tank so that it can leak some out at the appropriate intervals?

    Asking for a friend...

California just pass a bill (law?) by 2035 all new car/suv/truck must be electric or something like that. I don’t mind having option out there and let the consumer choose what they want to buy. I wonder if I can go to one of the neighbor states and buy a gasoline/diesel vehicle and bring it back….

Those that complain about Tacoma fuel economy make me chuckle. What did they expect for a 4,000 lb vehicle with decent power.

Not to worry though, once the grid collapses it will be like stepping back in time and the Amish will rule the roads.
