BSM Monitor

I wish I would have know that the BSM doesn't work with the chrome bumper cause I was told I needed to buy a new bumper for my '21 Tundra since replacing my original one which was cement gray and now it is not working.

 

is or was the sensor located in the bumper?? asking out of complete ignorance

Is it the reflection of the chrome that messes up the sensor?

 

I’m confused; are we working on a Tacoma or Tundra? Not sure it matters, maybe they use a similar setup, but your post sounds like you’re working on a Tundra.

never heard that before though since a lot of tundras come with chrome bumpers

The sensors are mounted on the inside of the bumper edges. I actually changed out the painted skin to a metal chrome and now it will not work. My Tundra is a Limited Edition with BSM and now I can't use it.

I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm having difficulty understanding what you did and what is going on from your description. Did you change bumper? what is this skin? did you disconnect the sensors? What is going on?

 

On this bumper you can change out the end caps on the bumper. Instead of changing the whole bumper you can just change the colored ends.

BSM sensors won't work with metal obstructing them, they are made to work through the plastic bumper cover. I'm not sure about this, but it seems like you are complaining about the BSM not working after changing your bumper to cover the BSM sensor with chrome/metal. Not sure where you're going to get any sympathy for that, your own ignorance is really the only thing to blame.
