not exclusively. I do enjoy other forms of BBQ at tailgates as well. No blasphemy here.

I made my own. Its not perfect and needs some attention now and then, but the price was right and a fun easy project.

https://youtu.be/_qDvu5ff-mU Gen3 install video shows that the BedRug liner zips together and covers the gap between bed and tailgate.

I was using a hunk of carpet to comfy-fi the tailgate but it didn't fit well so I bought a cheap kitchen rug. A mug of beer would have been better pic, but whatever. Leaves room for my stove and/or hot frying pan when camping and a comfy place to sit or kneel when climbing in the back.

Well if someone that participated in this thread is driving one of those lesbian trucks, no offense to lesbians of course, they probably are not coming back to comment. So that means the others continue sharing discussion on the topic.

I really need to take a pic of the PaXRax panel I have. It's powder coated aluminum. Price was good and it has very little branding on it that you could paint over

I had heard that "only gays and Lesbians drive Subary WRX STis." Another good joke, but thank you for walking into this one, and I have to thank my boonie rat brother and best-selling author of The Old Crocodile Man Theory: A Novel of Murder, Mystery and Monkey Business, Philip Hunsicker for reminding me of this oldie:

"A Texan dressed in cowboy shirt, cowboy hat, jeans spurs, chaps, and cowboy boots walks into a bar in New York and orders a drink. As he sits there sipping his whiskey, a young lady sits next to him. She asks, 'Are you a real cowboy?' To which he replies, 'Well, ma'am, I've spent my whole life on the ranch, herding cows, breaking horses, mending fences, so I guess I am.' To be polite, he asks her what she is. She replies, ' I'm a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about women. I get up in the morning thinking of women. When I eat, shower, watch TV, everything makes me think of women.' The woman then gets up and leaves. Another woman soon takes her place next to the Texan and asks, 'Are you a real cowboy?' He answers, 'I always thought I was, ma'am, but I just found out that I'm a lesbian.'"

I don't know if it's been said, most likely, but I sleep with my head against the cab anyways.

Plywood for the win. You can even paint it, throw some poly on top of that, chamfer the edges and make your own super nice piece. Just head to your local lumber yard and snag a halfsheet... win.

I need some of the ribs for my build but would like one segment of the tailgate flat. You think there's a way or some sort of product I can just screw on one segment and on top of the existing tailgate to have a flat, food-grade safe, middle part in the tailgate?

edit: something like this but attached to the stock tailgate:
